Do webs for your 10 vocabulary words from lesson 11. We started these in class today, so less for you to do at home!
1. Find four irregular verbs for your spelling (ones that are NOT already given to you)
2. Finish the spelling worksheet 3. Do "webs" for your 16 spelling words this week. Make sure you understand the context clues. As I told you in class on Thursday the following is your homework:
1. Finish reading "The Prince and the Pauper" 2. Answer all the questions in the margins INCLUDING the questions before page 56. 3. Answer the questions and do the exercises after the reading. Yes, this is a lot of homework but you didn't have English today! I will post the reading in the reading section for those who lost theirs. 1. Read "The Prince and the Pauper" from page 56 (where we stopped in class) to page 64.
2. Answer ALL the questions in the margins from page 56 to page 64. 3. Start studying for your vocabulary and spelling test. Practice performing lines 61-72 of "The Walrus and the Carpenter"
I say PERFORMING not READING because I want the poem to sound smooth and exciting! Remember to pause, emphasis important words, and change the pitch and volume of your voice so it is EXPRESSIVE. Hint: listen to how YOU sound! Read the context clues from your vocabulary packet (lesson 6).
1. make a web for each of the 10 words (so 10 webs) that shows the meaning, the part of speech, and an example sentence 2. make sure you understand the information in the context clues (about bats) because you will have a short reading quiz on it tomorrow Pick a story or book that was MEMORABLE. Think about what made it stick in your mind. Was it the characters? Was it the setting? Was it the plot? Was it the conflict that made it special and unique? Finish filling out the worksheet we started in class. I will post it below so you can remember which one I am talking about. Pick only ONE story or book and make sure you like it!
If you finish filling this worksheet out, start thinking about what your essay will look like. We will work on this in class, but bonus points to anyone who starts at home! See the worksheet below.
Start reviewing your vocabulary words! You have a lot to review so start now!
